Ep7 - Cultivating Inner Righteousness to seek Divine Grace.

Updated: May 27, 2024

It is said in the Bhagavad Gita that whenever righteousness declines and unrighteousness increases, God incarnates. There is no such place, nor is there any such time in which God is not present to protect His devotees and strengthen their faith. We need to prepare ourselves as disciples. When our preparations are complete, the Guru-Avatar appears.

Questions Answered by the Text:

  • How is the concept of God's incarnation explained in this text?

  • How can individuals experience divine intervention?

  • What is the role of self-preparation in spiritual growth?

  • When does a Guru-Avatar appear?

Key Highlights:

  • The text reinterprets the concept of God's incarnation in the Bhagavad Gita.

  • It emphasizes that the decline of righteousness and rise of unrighteousness happens within individuals, not just societies.

  • Feeling guilt and anguish about inner unrighteousness paves the way for divine intervention and salvation.

  • The focus shifts from waiting for God's incarnation to being ready to receive its benefits.

  • God's presence is constant, but the Guru-Avatar appears when the disciple is prepared.

It is said in the Bhagavad Gita that whenever righteousness declines and unrighteousness increases, God incarnates. The crisis that is indicated by the expression 'loss of righteousness and increase of unrighteousness' is not related to the customs and traditions of societies and the rise and fall of nations, it is related to the personal life of every person. To the extent that we experience guilt due to the rise of unrighteousness in our inner life, to the extent that we feel anguish due to the rise of unrighteousness in our inner life, to that extent we can expect divine intervention and salvation from sin in our lives. The question is not when will God incarnate? The question should be whether we are ready to benefit from His incarnation? There is no such place, nor is there any such time in which God is not present to protect His devotees and strengthen their faith. We need to prepare ourselves as disciples. When our preparations are complete, the Guru-Avatar appears. Excerpted from ‘Ajuni Saibhan’ Part 7.

Reader Takeaways:

  • The text encourages introspection and responsibility for personal moral growth.

  • It offers a way to understand God's intervention based on inner struggles.

  • It emphasizes the importance of preparing oneself for spiritual guidance.
